Wolfgang Schmid is a Professor of Music Therapy at the Grieg Academy, Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen. He also works part time as music therapist at the Palliative Care Center, Haukeland University Hospital. In his participatory and practice-led research, he explores questions regarding the significance and potential of music for individuals who are seriously ill or dying. He is particularly interested in how their experiences can be captured and shared with a broader audience using post-qualitative and arts-based methods.
Wolfgang is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Grieg Research School, and coordinator of education at the Grieg Academy.
