How can I prepare to be a respondent to another presenter? If you are presenting ****during the event you may be asked to give feedback for another presenter. The Autumn Course is based on dialogue and we encourage all presenters to give and receive feedback during the event.

Are you a PhD candidate applying for ECTS Points? Being a peer respondent is compulsory for anyone wishing to gain credit points for taking the course, but we strongly encourage all those presenting to be actively involved in the process of giving feedback to their peers.

What do I need to know about giving feedback?

In the Autumn Course each presenter has a 45 min session. This is organised with 20 mins for the presentation followed by approximately 25 minutes of discussion, comments and questions.

Each PhD presentation will be assigned two people to give feedback, usually 1 PhD peer researcher and 1 senior researcher. This is organised as approx. 10 minutes peer feedback, followed by 10 minutes senior researcher feedback, before we open for questions from the audience.

Please be aware that 10 minutes usually amounts to 2-4 comments or questions.

As GRS focuses on interdisciplinarity we are interested in generating conversations across disciplines and subject areas, so this means you may be asked to give comments to someone outside your own field.
